In the portrait: Bianca Nowag-Aulenbrock
Successful dressage rider, trainer, and Brisque brand ambassador: Bianca Nowag-Aulenbrock is currently among the top 30 in the world dressage rankings and is attracting attention, especially with her mare Florine OLD. We introduce you to Bianca and her philosophy.
"Even in the old days, my dad always bridled my horses before I went into the arena. Today, it's the double-bridle This has become our ritual over the years." Even in her pony days, Bianca Nowag-Aulenbrock's father supported her at competitions. Bianca has been a passionate rider since her youth - successful and collected numerous medals at the European Junior Championships, despite never having owned a horse of her own.
Calm, focus and connection
Bianca Nowag now competes at the highest international level. Her current top horse is Florine OLD. The chestnut mare, over 1.80 meters tall, enchants audiences in the dressage arena with her powerful gaits, but also with her lightness and elegance. Florine and Bianca convey the impression that they are dancing through the arena – a perfect harmony. Together, they radiate and demonstrate what correct and realistic dressage riding should look like.
What matters to Bianca? Calmness, focus, and a connection between her and her horse. Things can go wrong now and then, but the rider, who trains in Warendorf, is happy about every little success. Especially after last year, in which Bianca and Florine not only achieved several placings in Grand Prix and Grand Prix Spécial, but even placed in various stages of the FEI Dressage World Cup, it's clear that these two are among the international elite in dressage. And in 2024, Bianca and Florine continued their success in 's-Hertogenbosch and Aachen, among other places. Their most recent success: victory in the Dressage World Cup stage in Máriakálnok, Hungary.
"You can't be too cool"
If you meet Bianca away from the arena, you quickly notice how down-to-earth she is. It's important to her to be close to her horses, which is why she does everything herself before a competition – grooming, caring for them, saddling them. Only putting on the curb bit is still done by her father, who always accompanies his daughter to international competitions. To collect herself before a competition, she likes to withdraw a little and do stretching exercises. "It's always good for me to be a little nervous. You can't be too cool, because then something usually goes wrong. That's why it's not a bad thing if something goes wrong during preparation," she reports.
